Commercial Landscaping FAQ
Waste Management: We are committed to providing a Sustainable Waste ManagementService, and hold an upper-tier Environment Agency Waste Carrier’s Licence. Any waste resulting from commercial landscaping activities is carefully sorted, reused where possible, or taken to the local authority recycling centre. Woody waste is up-cycled. Suitable logs are split into firewood, kept as deadwood habitat or recycled. Chippings are used as mulch or composted for clients’ use.
Our Corporate Clients: Our list of corporate clients include Blacknoll Ltd, the Dorset Wildlife Trust, Her Majesty’s Prison Service, the Westcountry Rivers Trust and Seaview Holiday Park (Bourne Leisure Ltd).
All work is carried out to BS 3998:2010 – Tree Work Recommendations, and we hold comprehensive public liability and employers liability insurance.
Grounds Maintenance: Our Coastal Garden Projects Team offer a range of maintenance services that can be individually tailored to your own requirements. If you have a private garden or commercial outdoor space in the Weymouth, Dorchester and Portland area, please give us a call to discuss your individual needs. We can provide one-off ‘makeovers’ to rejuvenate or clear an untidy or overgrown space, or agree with you a highly specified grounds maintenance contract (both private and commercial).

Tree Care Service: Dale Culbreth and Bruce Campbell have spent the last three years retraining as Professional Arborists, gaining valuable experience in the private, commercial and charity sectors. They have a suite of City and Guilds NPTC qualifications enabling them to undertake a wide range of tree care services, and have recently completed the Advanced Diploma in Arboriculture through Kingston Maurward College. Other team members are also training with local training providers, Derek Brinsley Ltd and Kingston Maurward College, gaining chainsaw and related countryside management qualifications.
All of our logs are from locally-felled trees, and are seasoned for between 1 and 2 years.
If you live in the Weymouth area, and are concerned about environmental issues and sustainability, we would love to supply you with your seasoned logs. We only supply logs that are produced from trees that we fell or prune ourselves, for local clients. These trees have in many cases been damaged or wind-blown, or have simply grown too large for their space. We make the sustainability claim on two fronts – first, because we plant young, replacement trees for many of our clients, and secondly, because we are not transporting logs over many road (or sea!) miles.
Wood Burners:
The recent growth in the popularity of wood burners in homes has fuelled the local market for firewood – so much so that we had completely sold out of seasoned logs before the winter even started in 2013. Determined not to make the same mistake again, we are investing heavily in our arboricultural services to ensure we increase the amount of future tree work and provide a reliable supply of logs for our customers!
