Conservation and Ecology Services

Countryside and Garden Conservation for Weymouth, Portland, Dorchester, Bridport and throughout Dorset

Here at Coastal Tree Care, we are proud of the conservation and ecology work we have been involved with to date – particularly our role as one of the lead contractors for the Portland Living Landscapes project, managed by the Dorset Wildlife Trust. During the two year period of our involvement with the project as a lead contractor, we have removed and burnt hundreds of tonnes of Cotoneaster and other scrub species.

We are currently working with Natural England on one of their SSSI National Nature Reserve sites, clearing bramble and gorse from unimproved chalk downland, and have planted many thousands of trees and native hedging for PS Renewables, a major Solar PV farm installer.

Conservation and Ecology FAQ

Coastal Tree Care was established in 2011, but we have quickly gained the respect of a number of organisations for our expanding portfolio of Countryside Management projects.

Our work as professional arborists overlaps frequently with more broad-based countryside management projects, such as tree and hedge planting, tree felling, scrub management and hedge trimming. If you are a Riparian owner you may be interested in services such as bridge building, wooden deck and fishing platform installations, waterside planting and herbicide application (where appropriate).

You can be confident that our team are trained, competent and experienced in the application of pesticides and herbicides. All work is properly risk assessed, environmental assessments are carried out prior to spraying operations, and waste materials are correctly disposed-of in accordance with the Green Code.

For professional advice on the practical management of invasive plant species, please give us a call.

If you have woodland that is being rapidly over-run with Rhododendron, or an expanding area of Himalayan balsam, please give us a call. Our team is trained and accredited in the safe use of pesticides, and knapsack sprayer application. Whatever your Rhododendron management strategy – we can help.
Here at Coastal Tree Care, we are passionate about trees – but that doesn’t mean that we aren’t prepared to roll our sleeves down and get stuck into some scrub clearance when required! Whether just an overgrown corner of your garden, a newly acquired allotment plot or a neglected forestry plantation, we can help.
